Description
Convert ATX PSU into a Nice Bench Power Supply
The project night will be the 30th of April 2015 @ 18H30 in the Space.
Â
The Idea:
Ben Heck’s Workshop Hacks – Bench Power supply
We want to create a supply with 3.3V, 5V, and 12V rails. (some older supplies might have -5V and -12V rails)
Ok that is where we start of and where the idea for this hack comes from. Now we need to start hacking….
Â
What is needed:
1) Old ATX power supply that is still working and probably still is in one of your old PC cases. NOTE: the ATX power supply is not included in this kit.
2) Pick 1 of the 2 options below. They include all the components and perspex to complete the project as well as a set of wires with crocodile clips to get you started.
Hardware/Kits:
Option 1: The basic kit with everything needed to build it except the ATX power supply that you will need to bring along.
This kit will have stickers as the means for labeling the items.
Â
This option 1 will be R520.00
Â
Option 2: The basic kit with everything needed to build it except the ATX power supply that you will need to bring along.
This kit will have an additional rowmark etched board as the means for labeling the items.
Â
